Australia to Roll Out Pediatric Hearing Loss Intervention Program

A national intervention program is being rolled out in Australia in January to identify children with hearing loss, according to an article on the ABC News website.

The program—which received $4 million in federal funding to test children ages 4-17—will utilize a tool called Sound Scouts to gauge hearing ability, according to the article. The Sound Scouts app, commissioned by Australian Hearing, generates a report of potential hearing issues as well as referrals to an appropriate hearing care practitioner.
